About Everyday Climate Choices

Your go-to source for practical steps to save money, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to climate change. You'll find free resources and advice, as well as information about grants and rebates.

Let’s face it, life is busy

With so much to pack into every day, we don’t always get around to doing everything that's important to us. When it comes to environmental choices, it doesn’t have to be that way.

This website gives you free, reliable and up-to-date information so you can live and work more comfortably in Canberra. It's an initiative of the ACT Government and reviewed by experts.

Designed for busy people and full of advice for you to try. We have answers to hundreds of questions that'll help you at home, school or work, when you're getting around town and out in the community.

Information and tools are tailored to different people and life stages, taking you from attending a sustainable school to retiring in a climate-wise home and garden.

We're also the hub for what the ACT Government is doing to meet its ambitious target of net zero emissions by 2045.

Everyday Climate Choices is here for you, every step of your climate journey.

What we do and why

We provide up-to-date, evidence-based, scientifically validated information about our changing climate. And we're guided by plans to help preserve our way of life in Canberra:

That means we're well placed to help you reduce your carbon footprint and adapt to the effects of climate change.

We explain the small steps you can take to cut emissions where it really counts - energy, transport and waste.

We're always listening

As part of our journey to create Everyday Climate Choices, we've been listening to people who live and work in Canberra. We've loved hearing from you – and we're still listening.
