Make Your Next Choice Electric
The ACT Government has collaborated with Australia’s leading consumer advocacy group, CHOICE, to create an online tool – Make Your Next Choice Electric. The tool helps Canberra households to create their own energy transition plan and switch off gas.
The tool will:
- help you identify by when appliances in your home will need to be swapped out
- showcase the latest energy efficient electric appliances on the market that are best suited to your individual household needs
- provide cost estimates for upgrades
- provide estimates for cost and emissions savings because of your upgrades.
You can also access information through the Your Energy Journey tool on how to take action and transition to an all-electric home or business.
Zero Emissions Vehicles - Total Cost of Ownership
Find out how much money you could save by making your next vehicle electric with our total cost of ownership tool.
The free tool is simple to use and can provide cost comparisons that stack up with features that include:
- Users can input various features for vehicles, such as vehicles by make/model, body type (e.g., hatchback, sedan etc), fuel type (e.g., petrol, diesel, battery electric etc), average KMs travelled per year, annual fuel costs etc.
- You can also use the tool to input the features for vehicles arriving on the market soon and find out the total cost of ownership.
- Financial calculators reflect taxes and incentives unique to the ACT (i.e., registration waivers and stamp duty exemptions on electric vehicles).
The Business Energy Journey can help you discover efficient electric alternatives to gas appliances used in your business for heating, hot water, cooking, and more. You can also access support and advice to help you switch from gas.
