Partners

The ACT is part of a worldwide movement acting on climate change. We are working with others to learn more and share knowledge on climate action around the world.

National alliances

  • Cities Power Partnership: Local governments across Australia, including the ACT, focused on reducing greenhouse gas emissions. More than 100 councils representing almost 11 million Australians are part of this network.
  • Climate Action Roundtable: Australian states, territories and capital cities who are acting on climate change. Group members share knowledge, address common challenges, and work together on climate change mitigation and adaptation.

International alliances

  • Under 2 Coalition: A global coalition of ambitious state and regional governments committed to keeping global temperature rises to well below 2°C.
  • Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy: An international alliance of cities and local governments with a shared long-term vision of promoting action to address climate change and move to a low-emissions, climate resilient society.
  • Regions Adapt: A global framework to inspire and support regional governments to take strong action, collaborate, and report efforts on climate change adaptation.
  • Powering Past Coal Alliance: A coalition of national and sub-national governments, businesses and organisations working to advance the transition from coal power generation to clean, sustainable energy sources.
