What the ACT Government is doing
We’re taking actions to make our community more resilient to the changing climate. Using data and modelling, our strategies set ambitious goals. Business, community and government are working together to adapt and respond. We’re supporting renewables and clean tech, while carefully managing our natural and urban environments.
We’re making sure the ACT adapts to the changing climate so it remains a prosperous and liveable city.

Renewable and clean tech industry
Our city is a hub for renewable energy research, business innovation and investment. The ACT Government’s investment in renewable energy is helping our local economy. It’s another way we’re increasing our resilience.
In this industry, we’re seeing:
- more international companies in the ACT
- more demand for tertiary education and trades’ skills training
- more start-ups
- research partnerships to fund clean tech innovations.
The ACT Government's Energy Innovation Fund provides financial support to local businesses and start-ups.
