Community project submissions
About the Community Projects
This project aims to support greater community collaboration and engagement on climate action in the ACT by encouraging community groups and individuals to showcase their local climate action solutions and inspire more Canberrans to make everyday climate choices.
How it works
The ACT Government is proud to host an exciting array of community-led projects on the Everyday Climate Choices website.
You can now discover climate action projects around Canberra by exploring the online map, which features a range of case studies.
The map is regularly updated with new climate action projects. The ACT community is invited to submit climate action projects to be featured on the Everyday Climate Choices website.
What projects will be featured?
Projects will need to:
- demonstrate climate mitigation or adaptation action and be consistent with ACT Government policies, strategies and regulations. This includes project that focuses on energy, recycling and waste, water and plants, transport and travel, resilience or adapting to extreme events.
- be suitable for further promotion and replication by others in the community.
- be led by individuals, groups or organisations in the ACT community (i.e. not be ACT Government led).
- be located within the ACT
- not be political in nature or focussed on advertising for commercial gain.
- Identify if an ACT Government grant and what amount was received as part of the project
Submitting your projects will allow us to gather a list of keen individuals or organisations who wish to showcase their climate action work. Please note that submitting a project does not guarantee that it will be chosen to be published on our website. Each submission will be considered against the points above.
How do I submit a project?
Submit your story of a community led climate action project to climatechange@act.gov.au. Make sure to include:
- a case study with around 300-400 words max including the project title, the aim and key features of the project.
- a relevant high-resolution photo, ideally that includes a person in it.
- Disclosure of any ACT Government funding received and through which program.
Your submission will be acknowledged, and next steps will be provided within 5 business days.
