Pedal Power runs learn-to-ride courses for both adults and children to promote cycling.

By encouraging more people on bikes, Pedal Power is playing an active part in reducing the number of cars on the roads, which will lead to lower carbon emissions in the ACT.

Cycling is also a good way to improve physical and mental health.

The adult courses provide tailored tuition for adult beginners who want to learn how to ride a bike or refresh an old skill. Participants are assessed at the first lesson to ensure they get the level of training that is right for them. The lessons are one hour long and are held over five consecutive weekends. Students can bring their own bike or Pedal Power can provide one if needed.

The children courses run during the school holidays and are aimed at children 3 to 8 years old. They focus on teaching parents and carers how to get their kids riding confidently and safely. These are beginner courses, best suited to children who are not yet riding on their own unaided.

All courses are led by qualified instructors and supported by great volunteers.
