Expanded Energy Innovation Fund now open

The ACT Government has launched the Energy Innovation Fund to support Canberra’s transition to net zero emissions by 2045. Secured through industry contributions, the Fund offers up to $17 million in grants to support energy transition innovation over the next 5 years.

The Energy Innovation Fund will support energy innovation projects that:

  • provide innovative technological solutions to support the energy transition.
  • solve key policy challenges.
  • contribute to a thriving innovation ecosystem in the ACT.
  • are based in the ACT and ensure investment in local jobs and expertise.

Technology Demonstration Grant

Up to $10 million is available for a broad range of new and emerging technologies to support the energy transition. These grants are targeted to businesses and are open year-round.

Policy Challenge Grant

Up to $3.75 million is available to support solutions to key policy challenges the ACT faces in the transition to renewable energy. These grants are open to businesses, research institutions and think tanks.

Innovation Ecosystem Grant

Up to $3.25 million is available to projects that facilitate ecosystem and business acceleration, collaboration, and investment opportunities. These grants are open to business and non-profit organisations.

This investment will help create a more sustainable, efficient, and affordable energy system for everyone.
