Grants awarded to local businesses for innovative energy solutions

ACT Government has announced three new projects as part of the $17 million Energy Innovation Fund grants program.

The Energy Innovation Fund is currently backing 17 projects that are helping to grow Canberra’s renewable energy industry.

These projects are part of a broader effort to support new business models and innovative solutions that address energy challenges and fast-track the energy transition in the ACT.

Technology Demonstration Learn2Fly Learn2Fly is launching a cutting-edge electric aircraft training and maintenance hub in the ACT, paving the way for sustainable regional air travel.
Technology Demonstration Aratherm Services Pty Ltd Aratherm’s ‘Commercialising Electric Heat’ initiative is tackling industrial decarbonisation by making electric heating solutions more viable, helping manufacturers cut gas use and boost energy resilience.
Innovation Ecosystem – Innovation Clusters Canberra Innovation Network CBRIN’s Accelerate Canberra’s Energy Transition project is powering Canberra’s energy future by connecting researchers, startups, students and investors to accelerate innovation in electrification, grid resilience, gas transition and recycling.

Secured through industry contributions, the $17 million is available across three grant streams: Technology Demonstration, Policy Challenge and Innovation Ecosystem.

Applications are open all year round, with the next assessment deadline on 30 September 2025.
