Free energy efficiency support for renters

If you’re renting, simple changes can help you save money on energy bills and increase the comfort of your home.

  • Use appliances efficiently by setting the right temperature.
  • Seal cracks and gaps around your home to reduce your energy bills by up to 20%.
  • Shop around with energy providers. Compare plans at energymadeeasy.gov.au to help save on energy bills.
  • Get a free home energy visit with the ACT Government’s Renters’ Home Energy Program.

Sai Ram signed up for a free renters’ home energy visit from the ACT Government. “Overall, I found the assessment of my home very helpful. It’s going to help me save money on energy bills in this house, but also in any other place I move into in the future. I’ll also use the electric throw rug that Jeff gave us at the end of the visit – it’s going to be a great asset for Canberra’s winters!”
