Help available to electrify business vehicle fleets

04 Apr 2022

The ACT Government has launched a new information service to support businesses and community organisations to take charge of their future transport needs and electrify their vehicle fleets.

The zero-emissions vehicle (ZEV) Business Fleet Advisory Service will provide businesses and community organisations with independent and targeted information to help them choose appropriate, more environmentally friendly vehicles for their fleets.

Investing in zero emissions vehicles, like battery electric vehicles, is good for businesses and will help reduce transport emissions, which currently make up over 60% of the ACT’s emissions.

Electric vehicles are increasingly cost competitive and are cheaper to run and maintain compared to traditional petrol and diesel vehicles.

Together with the generous financial incentives available for purchasing zero emissions vehicles in the ACT, making the switch makes a lot of business sense.

Businesses can meet with an expert online or in person to receive tailored information on zero emissions vehicles, including financial benefits, total cost of ownership calculation, charging requirements and availability, vehicle models available, and even support your business case development.

About half of all new vehicles purchased in the ACT in 2020 were purchased for business fleets, so there is a significant opportunity for businesses to become climate action leaders by making more sustainable transport choices.

To find out more about the Business Fleet Advisory Service, visit the program webpage, call the Access Canberra Contact Centre on 13 22 81, or email EPSDD.FleetAdvisory@act.gov.au.
