Rebates available for community clubs to undertake energy efficient upgrades

09 Mar 2022

Community clubs in the ACT can upgrade their buildings and equipment to increase energy efficiency and reduce emissions with support from a new ACT Government program.

The Community Clubs Program provides eligible clubs with rebates of up to $75,000 on a co-contribution basis to upgrade to more energy efficient products such as air conditioners and hot water systems, and to install clean energy technology such as rooftop solar and energy storage systems.

Community clubs play an essential part in the social life of many Canberrans, and the program supports clubs to make energy and cost-efficient choices so they can continue playing this important role in the community.

Once a club’s application to participate in the program has been accepted, an assessor visits the site to determine how energy is used and where improvements can be made. Following the assessment, clubs receive a detailed report with advice on which products and actions may be of most benefit to help them cut energy use and costs. The rebate can then be used for the purchase and installation of the upgrades.
